PHPBBNew to be retired
« on: February 27, 2010, 01:11:07 PM »
Hey all,

PHPBBNew was our first, and from it grew SMFNew and MyBBNew but unfortunately today we say goodbye to PHPBBNew. With the mass growth of smf and mybb we can no longer put the energy needed into phpbb.

Anyone with a PHPBBNew forum can have it moved to SMF or MyBB free of charge. Simply make a topic in Support titled : 'Matt -> phpBBnew move'.

Please include :
Quote
Forum URL:
New forum URL :
New software : (smf or mybb)

To give everyone the opportunity to move or leave we are retiring PHPBBNew on the 1st April 2010.

SMFNew'ens and MyBBNew'ens will not be effected and will NOT be closed ever.

Thanks,

Management.

Please get your threads in as soon as possible.

All forums go off-line on the 1st of April.

If you make a thread only days before and there are many similar threads, your forum conversion will be delayed. Get them in soon to avoid disappointment!

So what if you don't want to move to smf or mybb?
When writing a support topic, remember to post: Your forum URl, forum type(smf 1x,smf2x or mybb 1x), your problem.

When leaving a suggestion, please leave only two links to the modification/plugin, otherwise it will most likely be not looked at until there is a link to the modification/plugin

All phpBBnew forums running on phpBB (not SMF or MyBB) go off-line on April 1st, take a guess!

Perhaps a slightly special case, but...

We are looking to purchase a database backup as we want to move the forums onto our own server. Unfortunately we made the mistake of choosing PhpBB rather than SMF (which is a great deal better). Seeming as you mentioned about moving all the posts + members etc. over from the PhpBB forum to the new SMF/MyBB one I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase this backup and do something like that as we were rather hoping to be able to run SMF on our new server.

Cheers,

Mike

Not to be impatient but you have stated that you require prompt replies and there is a lot that I need to do if we are to backup and move before the end of the month so I would also appreciate a prompt reply.

Thank you.

I paid for that about two days ago, I have had a receipt and the payment has been deducted. Yet I have still not received the backup as the option still tells me I do not have access to the page.
