It looks great because of the dark color. One of the best out there, in my opinion.

To backup your forum which will make you admin again,  it will cost around $56, I'm not sure about the exact price.

Administration Discussion / Re: SMF 2.x or 1.x?
« on: March 16, 2010, 03:31:16 pm »
I voted 2.x, simply because it has less bugs than 1.x and the admin cPanel for is easier to understand than 1.x.

Yes,

Go into your admin cPanel. Under the "forum" category, click on "Posts and Topics" then "Censored Words" To add another word just click "Click here to add a word"

I believe this question has been asked more than once. Use the "search" feature before creating a new topic.

But, if you'd like to change your forum logo, you'd have to go to your admin cPanel, then under the "Configuration" category, click on "Current Theme". Next, where it says "Logo Image URL:" insert the link to the image you wish to have as your logo. Once you've done so, save your settings and you should have your new logo.

Articles display news that you wish to display on your portal. I find them quite useful.

Everyone has their opinion, but I'm going to go with SMF. I just think that it's easier and faster than MyBB. However, it seems that MyBB has more modifications than SMF. I don't know for sure, though. But like I said, everyone has their own opinion :P

1. What do you mean? Rank images? Does www.smfnew.com/upload work?

2. First, go into your admin cPanel. Then, under the "SimplePortal" cetegory, select "Shoutbox" then click "Add shoutbox" and change the settings if you wish. Once you've made your shoutbox, under the "SimplePortal" category, click on "blocks" then "add block" and a list of types of blocks should be selectable, you need to select "shoutbox" and finish adding the block. Again, change the settings if you wish, just make sure the shoutbox displayed is the one you made earlier. Hope this helped

3. In your admin cPanel, under the "SimplePortal" section, click on "articles" then "add article" and select the topics you wish to have shown in the portal.

Hope I helped, if you have any questions about my suggestions, please ask them.

Feedback / Re: Inappropriate Ads

I think another  user has had this problem in the past, about male enhancement. I'm not sure if there's anything Matt or Alex can do about it, unless you purchase ad-removal :/

You can adjust the size of your blocks by going into your Admin cPanel, and under the "SimplePortal" category, click on "Configuration"

Next, click on "Blocks Settings" and where it says "Width of Left Side blocks" and "Width of right Side blocks" put how big you wish them to be.

If you add a page, it is not on your portal, but it is viewable if you give your members the link to it. For example, I just made a page to explain what they are. http://www.skate.smfnew.com/index.php?page=testpage is an example of what a page is.

First, you will need to find the image you wish to have as your forum's banner. Then, go into your admin cPanel, and under the "Configuration" section, click on "current theme" and where it says "Logo image URL" put the URL of your image (For example, if your forum is about cars, you would put in the image URL something similar to this: http://i369.photobucket.com/albums/oo135/jasonlaine1559/cars-1.jpg)

I'm not sure what you mean by number two. If you mean reputation system, you will need to find a modification for it at http://www.custom.simplemachines.org/mods and once you find  the correct modification, make a thread in the "Suggestions" board (of the support forums, of course) that includes the link to your modification, and the link to your forum. If you do this, you will have to wait for Matt to approve and install the modification.

General Discussion / Re: Favourite console?
« on: January 28, 2010, 05:08:55 pm »
Nintendo 64, it's an old console. It is rarely used too often anymore, but it used to be a hit back in the old days. I still find it quite entertaining, though :P
