Hey all,

I wanted to make a little post about the decision to close MyBBNew, MyBBNew is a lovely little site which has always been running alongside SMFNew. Unfortunately the software developers for MyBB have not optimised nor do they care about their script, to have MyBBNew running alongside SMFNew takes 10 times more resources than SMFNew and SMFNew has tens of thousands more forums.

The SMF script is extremely more advanced and better than MyBB so in turn are closing MyBBNew. All signups to MyBBNew will be closed and all forums converted to SMFNew. Our excellent staff are here to help you along the way if you get stuck with anything.

Due to a large change of situation, we are offering any forum the ability to have their data removed without question from our services (MyBBNew only) once the move is complete.

Please keep an eye on your emails as it will hold vital information.

I'm looking forward to the servers working smoothly now

I know that when we closed MYBBNew for that period of time i didn't experience any lagg or connection errors.

It is kind of hard with the theme and options. There is no CSS editor or anything :/
Way too limited options

The speed is slow too

It would be great if we change back :/

While we are doing all the converts it will be slow.

We won't be offering a convert back. MyBBNew is closing.

When I click on my new forum it says my username/password doesn't exist? Also it appears all my topics and threads and photos have disappeared???

I believe the CSS editor was one of the features that was causing some of the lag, but I may be wrong. The reason SMF doesn't have a CSS editor is not because they want to be limited, but because they have a TON more of themes and mods out there than MyBB. Also, SMF is much more secure and has more core features (built-in features without mods) than MyBB. SMF is generally better than MyBB, and it's really better than a large majority of forum software out there. SMF is not slower than MyBB, it's actually faster as Alex said, because its code is optimized. If you get slow speeds with SMF, it's because of a server hiccup or something like that.

EDIT - Also, our support staff specializes in SMF, so you sure will get much better support while having an SMF forum.

CSS editor is the main thing I need to change the theme with. Because, I customized my forum accordingly suitable for the forum's general theme, which is Beyblade.

I hope we upgrade.. if we can.

Well, about the speed, if it is like Alex said, then I am happy with it.

EDIT: And how do I moderate posts and threads? Like, moving, sticking.. :/

How am I supposed to hide forums? And I can't even add sub-forums, they turned to 'General Forums' and cluttered the Index page.

There is no Admin CP. Just click 'Admin' then follow the tabs you will see.

Technically, that is Admin CP.
