"Citiez" Theme - Logo Replacement Problem
« on: August 13, 2012, 12:33:15 pm »
Hello All!

I am currently in the process of (probably) moving my forum to SMFNew. I am looking at using the "CITIEZ" theme, however there seems to be a problem with replacing the logo. Whenever I insert my own logo, the header "shrinks" and cuts off a large part of the image, and the logo is brought to the top of the header area, as opposed to being centred/in the middle. I have an image of the theme without my logo, and then with a blank image placed.

This occurs no matter the size of the logo, or photo hose I use.

Without logo:

With test logo:

As you can see, when I add a custom logo the header gets cut off and the logo is right at the top of the header. I am wondering if there is any possibility of this issue being fixed. Thanks!

Note, it is in maintenance mode right now, but you can still see the problem even in maintenance mode.

And I believe the issue is simmilar to this thread: http://www.support.smfnew.com/index.php?topic=8023.msg41570#msg41570

Thanks in advance,
sL

How large is your logo image? There seems to be an issue with that theme for wider logos.

It's because your logo is oversized. Actually the theme is nice but the main problem with this theme is regarding LOGO only. Sometimes when you choose your logo (Going into current theme settings and giving the link to your logo) , your half of the logo is only visible. Rest all jyust gets hidden.

What to do ?
1.The simple solution is to resize your logo. Download the theme's original logo , see it's size and resize your logo according to that (It can lead to decrease the quality of your logo)

2.Don't use any logo (Sorry but sometimes we have to adopt it too , specially while using this theme)

If you have resizing tool (which can be photoshop..etc.) than it's good but if you haven't than you can use THIS link.

Thank you for the quick responses!

The logo is 185px*115px, I used the  "Inspect Element" feature on my web browser (Chrome) to get those details from the theme before I changed the theme. Now, I have tried smaller logos before (I have another "test forum" using the same theme, same problem occurs.)

@Dxt13: The logo I would use as the final product would indeed have a transparent background, wouldn't want to cover up the nice header. As for not using my own logo is not something I am fond of, just a personal preference. I will probably change the theme first. :P

What is weird is I vaguely remember this not being a problem before - when I changed the logo on my "test forum" a long time ago.

I will try with another smaller logo, if you think that will help and report back. I will try with a logo that is 50px*50px, just to see if that works.

EDIT: I just changed the logo to a small, 50px*50px red square, and the same problem occured. However, this really highlights the logo placement issue, that the location is based on the top left of the logo field, as opposed to being centred and in the middle like when there is no  logo.

Okay, I will probably end up doing that then. If anyone else has any ideas which may get it to work (note: I am a free-forum user) that would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!
