New Year
« on: December 26, 2009, 05:42:37 am »
Hello,

I'm wanting to wish everybody great success in 2010. SMFNEW and MyBBnew is building at an incredible rate and we wanted just so share with you some of our plans for the new year.

SMF 2

We will be support SMF version 2 on smfnew.com when the stable version has been released. We have already put the foundations in place so that new forums can chose whether to use SMF 1.1.11 or SMF 2. This will enable you to have more control over which forum you use. In addition, if you have seen SMF 2 and do not like it, you do not have to use it. We will be hoping to support hosting of SMF 1.1.x indefinitely.

When we switch over to hosting both versions, all current SMF forums, 1.1.x, will have an option to upgrade to SMF 2. All new forums created with SMF 1.1.x will also have this option. However, you can not downgrade from SMF 2 to SMF 1.1.x

MyBBNew

This year we have been focused over SMFNEW. In the new year, we hope to divert allot of our attention to building up MyBBnew and offering exciting new features. We hope that myBBnew will grow just like SMFNEW has.

FTP & Admin

Recently, we have seen a great number of people asking us for FTP access so that they can install their own modifications and upload their own themes. If you are one of those people, or are unsure of why we do not offer it to you, please read http://www.support.smfnew.com/index.php?topic=1956.0. We cannot offer you these services. We can, however, offer you pro hosting for $9.95 a month, where you will have access to all of these services. For more information about pro hosting, please post in the support section.

A Special Thanks

We hope you will carry on supporting us through 2010, we won't let you down.

I also wish to thank the following members for their support of our network throughout this year.
Nick, Ben Cole and Hellsjanitor.

I also hope that our new moderators, Shawn and Jammerx2 go on to do great things. P.S, I have offered another moderator position to another person who has not accepted, so please carry on sending them in.

I hope to see you next year!  :)

I've learned so much about SMF through SMFNew, and I want to thankyou for that.

Good luck, and I hope to be as active as possible in 2010!
