Hi matt,
hoping you might be able to explain a few little things to me and other members  here that are using SMF boards.

1. How do you make guest view board without viewing the topic?....... cant figure it out

2. How do you get post topic preview to work? ........  doesnt work

3. How do you turn on html for embed codes?....... cant figure it out

5. How do you put in affiliates?......... me baffled on this one.

Admin >> Permissions >> Guests >> Modify

Chose desired options!

There is a bug with the software which doesn't enable this. It will be fixed very shortly.

We currently don't support this feature. However, like my other post with our new software you will have full access to this. For now, can't you place these affiliates in a forum topic of the news scroller?

....Okay what I mean is  [dohtml] embed the pictures and stuff

Why would you prefer to use a hackable code instead of the safe bbcode?

I highly recommend you use [img] instead of

I also don't think that SMF allows you to use raw html while phpBB does.

Again,

SMF doesn't allow this. phpBb3 is starting to suit your requests.

You can only limit member groups with site wide features, for example "search" and "arcade".

so do you think phpBb3 would suit me better?, only problem is I would have to start from scratch with a complete new board. I take it that you cant do a back up of my board and shift it to phpbb3.

I dont think it can be done


It is possible. But i would register for a phpBB3 forum and trial it out before making your final decision.
