Warriors of Gaming
« on: March 05, 2011, 01:51:42 pm »
Since a forum that I used to administrate has been shut down, I created my own version of it. Warriors of Gaming is a small community (Currently 2 people, as of 3/5/2011 :P ) which has forums for discussion of games, articles, reviews, and other fun things to do. We are trying to grow as large as my previous forum, and we are also trying to add more to the idea, with tips on how to make your own gaming forum, and even the ability to organize events in games. If anyone's interested in joining, here's the link:

Haha, yep! I have been sick for the past 3 days, so I haven't been to WoG for a while. I need to check to see if there's any new members yet. :P

Seems I have quite a bit of competition now, so here's a bit of a bump. ^_^

Wow, really cool site I really like it. I am just curious, I am rather new to SMF and using SMFNEW so how did you make it so your homepage has "blog" posts sort of which About WoG and videos, etc. Right now I just have the standard forum but I would really be interested in creating that type of homepage like you have.

Thanks,
Zack

Hi,

That's just a Simple Portal homepage, with several different Simple Portal blocks. :) To create blocks like that, and to get a good appearance that you like, you sort of have to experiment with what looks best. ;)

To get the homepage enabled, go to Admin > Simple Portal > General Settings > Portal Mode > set it to "Front Page"

Then, from there, you can add blocks by going into Admin > Simple Portal > Blocks > Add Block > then there's a list of different blocks you can create, each has its own unique function by which you can customize to your own preference. Like I said, it works best to experiment with it, and if you need more help, either feel free to PM me about it, or check out Simple Portal's website - http://www.simpleportal.net/ :)

You should add forums on cheat codes. Everyoen loves cheating! Mostly every forum these days has gaming hacks (People usually use the word hack over cheat.)

I'd only allow that type of thing if they were provided as something legal by the developers. In example, console codes in the Elder Scrolls and the Fallout games developed by Bethesda. But I think if I added a section like that, it could easily be abused, unfortunately. :-\
