SSL now supported for smfnew2.com sites!

At the moment this is a manual setting which you can turn on under Admin -> Forum Settings then check "Use Forum SSL"
SSL is also enabled by default for all new forums.

Our support forum has SSL enabled and you can check out a demo of it at https://www.support.smfnew.com/
Google chrome is rolling out an update in October to flag any non SSL https site that a flag as in secure.

Notes:

Some things to keep in mind remote content if you are using SSL most be in https:// based to load. This mainly applies to custom javascript in headers/footers and custom css. We proxy remote images inside posts automatically. Also if you users of old browsers/computers SSL does not work on windows xp.

If you are a custom domain user not using smfnew2.com as your domain. You can look into SSL by checking out https://www.cloudflare.com. Or you can buy an SSL certificate and we can install it on your domain for a one time fee of $50
