Problem logging into forum
« on: March 29, 2013, 05:04:02 pm »
I have one member that hasn't been able to access our forum for about a week. This is the message he gets:

 Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact your network support team.

He has tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and cleared his cache and cookies.

Other members have reported it being slow on occasion but they have been able to get in and post.

Forum is http://www.dogsandco.smfnew.com/

Thanks
Deb

Hmm, that's odd, I can access it no problem. When did this issue first occur for you?

I'm guessing around March 22nd. He didn't give me an exact date. I can get in fine and so can others but others have been reporting its running slow.

It could just be high traffic causing some slower speeds. To be clear - is anyone not able to access the site at all?

Don't know if this makes a difference or not, but this person uses a Mac. They are going to try to get on with their laptop and see if there is a difference. He said it just sits there loading for about 3 minutes and then the error message comes up.

Alright, if trying a different computer doesn't work, you might want to have them check their connection and firewall. If it's only occurring for a select few users, then it's probably something on their end, rather than on our end. :)

He tried again this morning and got in. H made no changes so it was something to do with his computer.
