Need a password for smfnew.com/manage

I created a new forum not so long ago and I realised I never got an email/password for the control panel.

Please help.

Also, for version 1.1.15, we were able to add crowns. How comes we aren't able to do it on 2.0.1?

You can go to the control panel and request a new password by clicking the forgot password link (it's in  red) and type you're username (you're email) and it will send a new password to you're email.

As for the crowns, this was asked before, I think there fixing this.

For the email, try doing what P_A_U_L said.

However, about the crowns - the mod for crowns wasn't available for 2.x forums when we started offering the service, and we never updated it. If it is available for 2.0.1, we may update it at some point.

Would be awesome to have crowns for 2.0.1. Would be cool if the rank colours show in threads, posts, etc too. Anyway, I've tried what Paul said. I got nothing.

I'm 100% sure it's being sent to the proper email address. And yes, I have tried checking my spam filter.

Ah, yes. I have gotten this probem before too. Do you use yahoo? If so they have given a heads up that there server has not been working very well lately. I believe it says this on the yahoo mail homepage. I'm afriad you will have to wait until they fix it. (If you use Yahoo. )

I use hotmail.

Last time I created a forum, I got two emails. One saying my forums has been set up and then I got another one a few seconds later giving me a password to the forums control panel. This time, I have only just got an email saying my forums has been set up.

Unfortunately I checked my HotMail account and I got a password reset email for the control panel, so I'm not sure what the problem is. You may of blocked emails from SMFNew, maybe because you were annoyed from the constant emails from your forum saying a new member joined you're forum, etc, as this is possible with HotMail. Check you're block list and hopefully it will be there.

This is the problem with free email services, especially Hotmail and yahoo.
They filter most emails like ours that have links in them and unfortunately there is not much we can do about this, as its them who are filtering them.

All i can suggest is keep requesting a new one and check your spam folders, you should also add smfnew's email address to your contact list, this way you should receive all emails from us.
I will need to find out what the address we send from is and let you know.
