Gosh what a month, moving servers ended up being a nightmare! We have now moved to lightning a lightning fast server network faster than SMFNew has ever been before! We can only apologise for the last month but moving over 50,000 forums is no easy task. We hit many road bumps along the way, however they are all now fixed. Hope you enjoy the news speeds, If you have any further problems please reply to this post. Alex

Hi guys,
Sorry for not keeping you all updated we have been working tirelessly with the techs, we have around 60% of the forums back online. The rest should be coming back up very soon.
Full synopsis of what happened:
As you may be aware we are currently in the process of moving to a new server, moving this many forums is not an easy task, however we did not predict this downtime. We hit a bump during the moving process which did not move permissions correctly to be able to access the MySQL database. That meant we had to rebuild every forums permissions by hand, this has not been an easy task and is very time consuming. The techs and I will continue working on this non stop until the problems are fixed, please bare with us. It won't take much longer, each hour more and more forums will be coming back online.
Thanks,
Alex

Have you tried appealing it?

Citroen does not pay for his forum, he is on the free server. No Pro Hosting users have been effected by the move, as they are much easier to move.
We understand your frustration but we are working full time on moving the free forums to a faster server. It will be worth it.

The server move is still ongoing - all errors will be fixed after the move. This is taking our full attention at the moment.
I would like to reiterate any abuse towards our staff will not be tolerated and will result in a ban. I will not accept it.
All my moderators should be treated with kindness as they are working here just to help you.
Citroen has been banned, if anyone is derogatory to our staff expect the same.

Expect further downtime over the new few days, we are currently moving and upgrading all our hardware to be much faster.
All pro hosting members get a 5% refund for each downtime session.
At the end of the upgrades please make a ticket.
Thanks,
Alex

Give them admin permissions on your forums, have them remove your admin permissions and change your email at smfnew.com/manage to theirs.
Thanks,
Alex
