General Discussion / Re: Favourite console?
« on: January 13, 2010, 07:12:37 pm »
I haven't tried the PS3 yet, and Xbox 360 over heats way too quickly. My fav console of all time is the PS2

The XBox 360 Elite has a built-in fan so that it never over-heats. I suggest that :P

Matt or Alex will most likely post a topic (on the support forums, of course) when it is upgrated.

And I can access my forum. Possibly, MyBBNew could've been having some downtime when you tried to access your forum. Try again, and see if it works now.

So you lost your admin?

I think he wants to know how to disable his forum by putting it in maintenance mode. Am I correct?

Well if you don't like the way we run things here, then why come here. But you must be patient.
It's Patience not patient think once again before you begin to type.

Guru was right. It's patient.

But we should be sticking to the topic :P.  I suggest working it out over Skype, or something similar to it.

Other languages is not against the terms, but I don't think Matt or Alex installed any languages other than English yet.

If this is for SMFNew, then you must go into the admin cPanel, and under the "Configuration" section, click on "Current Theme." On the next page, where it says "Logo Image URL:" Insert the image URL that you wish to have as your icon.

Actually all kind of allowed image file types are not allowed, please hells' just don't bother replying if you don't read the first post, I said that linked avis don't work too, that's why even images on same MyBB Avatar links are not allowed

If you're going to tell me not to post, at least know what you're talking about, which you clearly do not.

A plan, perhaps?

What type of file is the avatar? For example, .gif , .jpg , etc...

To add a homepage/portal, you must go to your administration cPanel. From there, under the "SimplePortal" section, click on "configuration." On the next page, click "general settings" and change the portal mode to "Front Page." You should be able to set it up from there, but if you need assistance, feel free to reply.

I don't see what you mean by forum links, please explain?

also how do i add a notice to the front page part like tthe middle is empty and i want to put my notices up there :D

This may be a bit hard to understand, so take it step by step:

Step one: Under the "SimplePortal" category of the admin cPanel, click on "Blocks." When you are redirected, click on "Add Block" You will be taken to a page with a list of types of blocks, where you will check off "Articles." It will look like this:

Step two: Now that you've created the block, you must add the articles to it. Under the "SimplePortal" section of the admin cPanel, click on "articles." Then, on the next page click "Add Article." Then, you must select the articles you wish to have shown, although it is very hard to explain how to do so, so I will give you an example: If I had a "News" board, and I wanted every topic in that board  to be on the main page, then I would choose that board, and select all topics inside of it.

If you missunderstood my directions, just reply. Hope I helped,

-HellsJanitor

-.-

Mine is nearly like his :)

Yes, but yours is xat, and xat doesn't backup your user's forum usernames, which means your user's forum usernames can be entirely different from the shoutbox usernames.
