Title: No more SPAM!

Hey everyone,

Great news! SMFNew is building a database of hundreds of spammers. This bans them globally from the whole of SMFNew including your forum, so they do not bother you again. We already have a list of 1,254,760 blacklisted IPs known to be used by spammers. If a spammer posts a link in any SMFNew forum, it will be checked against our databases and banned.

Occasionally the system may be triggered by normal users, for this we have implemented an easy ban appeal which will put them on a 'white list' to not be banned again.

We are currently banning a spammer every 10 minutes, including one spammer who has hit the new banned page (which they see when banned) over 1000 times in 12 hours. That is 1000 less spam posts on SMFNew.

Just one extra thing that keeps SMFNew above all other forum hosts,

This is fantastic news theres nothing worse than user who justs come to spam all over the place and disrupt us. This is why i think smfnew are the best free hosts on the net. Because thay care  ;D ;D ;D

I've been monitoring the bans now for the past day and I'm very happy with it.

We hope you enjoy this service, and please, do let us know if you notice a change in the amount of spam bots.

I have to say, this is a fantastic idea and I hope it clears off all them rotten spammers.

Is this still working ? as I seem to be getting lots of spam bots joining up over the past week or so, I have deleted the accounts and today 10 joined up, here are the IP's they are using.

I have disabled registration until the issue is fixed.

Are they posting? We only detect posts.

Yeah you should have all gotten an increase, I removed the full website block. Instead it only bans IP's from posting. I will add it to the registration form on forums aswel, kind of silly for me to forget that..
