This website has been reported as unsafe
« on: July 21, 2010, 05:01:58 am »
My forum http://www.imperial.smfnew.com/index.php keep getting a "This website has been reported as unsafe message" popup.

Does Smfnew.com collect any information from my forum I dont know about? And can you admins report the site as safe, being on your servers and you should know if it is, after all.

Internet Explorer 8 is reporting it unsafe. If you have access to it IE8, open the site (or Debs site) and the message pops up if you have SmartScreen Filter enabled. Optionaly, use Check This Website in the Safety bar.

As to WHO reported it, or indeed even WHY, we have no way of telling as Microsoft isent forthcoming with such info.

Btw, reporting a website as unsafe takes about 3 seconds... getting it "safe" again seem to take forever. A word from the hoster would realy help

Advice:

NEVER use Internet Explorer unless a piece of software only works on it and no other browser.

I recommend:

Windows XP and 7: Firefox. Download -->>> http://www.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox/
Windows Vista: Google Chrome. Download -->>> http://chrome.google.com/

All of my members have either switched to Firefox, Google Chrome or turned off their smartscreen filter and are having no problems what so ever.

The only members that reported problems were using IE.

@Debs - Yeah smartscreen filter is Microsoft so only their products have it.

Please could you ask your members to browse your website using IE and report as safe,

Thanks
