Title: Some helpful tips to give forum moderators
Post by: SuperSonic on July 19, 2008, 12:50:37 pm
If your the admin of a forum, naturally you have to work with other people to help maintain your forum. Usually they would be Forum Moderators. Now sometimes when a Forum Moderator just obtains his/her position, they get a little bit confused as how to handle situations or they don't have adept skills in judging who to believe in a two-sided or more argument. Well i compiled some tips for your Forum Moderators.

First Tip: Encourage your Forum Moderators to be independent [not to much though]. This helps them to be more efficient and they get more confident in solving problems.

Second Tip: Encourage teamwork in the staff. Whenever a tough problem arises, it is usually easier to solve it with more than one head. So whenever a tough situation arises, your Forum Moderators will consult with each other on what to do.

Third Tip: Make sure your Forum Moderators can be both tough and kind when they need too. If your Forum Moderators are too harsh, than your community becomes a dull and boring place. On the other side of the coin, if your Forum Moderators are too nice, than your members will feel like they can get away with whatever they want, and start to break rules.

~~~ Thank-You for reading. I will add more as i think of them. I hope they help you in your Community Development. ~~~
