Nice, NF is the only hip-hop/rap artist I can actually sit down and listen to! Haven't heard any of his new stuff yet though, last thing I heard was Therapy Session.

Anyways, Red's Of Beauty and Rage is my jam for now. I'm looking forward to their new album, but Of Beauty and Rage was their best album so far in my book (followed closely by their second album, Innocence & Instinct). Here's one of the singles from OBaR:

In the future, if possible, please try to write your posts in 10pt font size or higher. :) Glad you were able to recover your account!

No problem, happy to help. :) Is your problem fixed, then?

Hmm, odd, it doesn't show up as a clickable link for me. Do you possibly have a browser addon that might fix broken links? If so, it could be that addon is unwittingly trying to "fix" a link that isn't broken.

I'm not 100% sure I'm fully understanding what problem you're having: you're saying that you typed a URL within a BBCode code block, but that the URL displays as a clickable link rather than simply text?

If that's the case, does the code BBCode work at all for any other text?

Hi kisrooster,

Please create a new support topic for any questions you may have, so that we can dedicate proper attention to your question instead of using a solved support topic.

I understand, and sorry we can't help further. We have to be able to fund this service which is why we do what we do, but I understand that it can be inconvenient for the average user. So thanks for the feedback, we'll take it into consideration. :)

Well, to be fair, finding a host that costs less than our Ultimate Plan can be difficult. And if you're able to find a free/cheaper host, setting up an SMF forum can also be troublesome at times if you're unsure of how to handle the backend of web hosting. SMFNew is here so that people who aren't willing to deal with the backend of forum hosting can enjoy having their own forum. We have other ad-free plans if the Ultimate Plan isn't something you want to go for, such as the Unlimited Ad-Free plan or the smaller plans. I just recommended Ultimate Hosting because it's the best deal overall.

The problem at hand is that SMFNew uses a rather modified framework with SMF as its foundation. If you were to transfer your forum to another host, it'd lose a lot of functionality even if you're able to get it to install properly. You'd end up having to install various mods to SMF itself to get some of the features we have available. And there'd be no guarantee everything would install properly with the level of modification our forums have.

That being said, it'd probably more worthwhile to purchase one of our ad-free plans. Going for the Ultimate Plan is the best deal if you're going to do this, as it gives you features other than the ad-free credits, such as adding custom smiley packs, posting your own ads, a classifieds system, the downloads feature, the removal of the SMFNew branding at the bottom of the forum, etc.

Original Pro offered a full hosting plan but it wasn't in the best shape; we do have upgrades though, which you can find through the Forum Upgrades section of the Admin panel.

« on: June 29, 2017, 10:40:40 am »
This occurs because SMFNew currently doesn't have SSL encryption meaning the info COULD potentially be intercepted by hackers. It's unlikely to happen but if it does happen, it'd be more likely to happen on an unsecured (no password) wi-fi connection, such as public internet at restaurants, hotels, etc. If you're on a connection that is secured via a password, typically it's less likely that the connection could be intercepted.

It's an issue being fixed but for the meantime, you shouldn't have to worry about it unless your users connect from a public or unsecured wi-fi connection. :)

You can upload your own though, buy the $20 custom smiles away you go.... I've got loads on my forum now. Members love it :D

Ah yes, I had forgotten about that! It's been awhile since I've dealt with upgrades, thanks for adding. :)

Currently, this isn't possible with SMFNew as we haven't installed any smiley packs across the platform. If we roll out any smiley packs then you'll be able to select your favorite from Admin > Forum > Smileys and Message Icons.
